Drink plenty of water during recreational activities to prevent dehydration.
Use sunscreen.
Protect yourself from mosquitos and no-see-ums by wearing pants, long sleeves and/or bug spray.
In the warm months, these flying insects are present throughout the day but are worse at dawn and dusk.
DO NOT approach, feed or taunt alligators.
Use bicycles and skates responsibly. Stay on trails and off the roads and golf cart paths.
Biking and jogging on Kiawah Island Parkway (inside the gate), Governor's Drive, and Ocean Course Drive is prohibited.
Obey speed limits.
Watch out for pedestrians, bikers, golfers, skaters, and wildlife, especially deer.
Fireworks and firearms are prohibited on the island.
Gas and electric grills are ONLY permitted to be used on decks of single family homes.
Do not use grills on decks or balconies of condos or villas.
